There’s a familiar frustration with this position: tall players get assigned to middle by default, never develop their passing, and stay stuck there. If you’re tall, push for reps at outside or opposite before specialization locks in.

Opposite Hitter — The Right-Side Threat

The opposite attacks via back sets from the right side. Unlike the outside, they don’t serve-receive — which frees up significant mental and physical bandwidth.

Left-handed? This is your natural position. The ball arrives into your hitting arm first — a structural advantage right-handed opposites have to compensate for. Libero — The Defensive Anchor
