XbotGo Falcon
XbotGo Chameleon Review: Specs, Phone Support & Verdict
Tired of missing the action, or of being the parent who watches the whole game through a phone screen?
The XbotGo Chameleon turns the smartphone you already own into a hands-free AI sports camera. Mount the phone, pick your sport, hit record — Chameleon handles the tracking, the rotation and the zoom while you watch the game.
XbotGo Chameleon Reviews: What Buyers Actually Say
The Chameleon currently holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating from more than 1,500 verified reviews on the XbotGo store. Reading through them, the same themes come up repeatedly, and they're worth knowing before you buy — including the limits.
What reviewers consistently praise:
- Being present at the game. The most common comment from parents isn't about video quality at all — it's about watching the game instead of filming it.
- Setup speed. Three steps, no technical learning curve, and it works with a tripod you may already own via the standard 1/4-inch screw mount.
- No recurring bill. Core AI tracking and recording require no subscription, and live streaming is free.
- Battery that outlasts a tournament day — eight hours of working duration, because your phone does the recording rather than Chameleon.
What you should know before buying:
- Image quality follows your phone. Chameleon is the tracking system; your handset is the sensor. A newer phone produces better footage.
- Your phone is occupied for the game. If that's a problem, the standalone XbotGo Falcon does the same job without one.
- No weather rating. Chameleon is designed for outdoor use in normal conditions — protect it from heavy rain.
- Some features are sport-specific today. See the section below.
Why Choose XbotGo Chameleon?
1. Adaptive AI tracking across team and individual sports
Covers soccer, basketball, ice hockey, football, tennis, badminton and more. Chameleon adjusts to different age groups, field sizes and game formats — from 7v7 to 11v11 and indoor courts — rather than applying one tracking logic to everything.
2. Jersey number tracking and smart auto-zoom
Chameleon recognizes jersey numbers to stay locked onto the right player, even in fast-paced indoor games. Auto-zoom pushes in for key moments and keeps the play clearly framed.
Worth being precise here: jersey number recognition and individual player tracking are currently available in Basketball mode, with additional sports planned for future software updates.
3. Free live streaming and sharing
Stream to YouTube, Facebook or any RTMP platform in one tap — free, with no recurring streaming fee. Monitor and control the recording from the app on a second phone, from an Apple Watch, or with the Bluetooth remote included in the box.
4. All-day recording
Eight hours of working duration on a single charge, and four hours to recharge. Because Chameleon isn't the thing recording, it comfortably outlasts a full tournament day of games.
5. Cloud storage with no monthly fee
20GB of free AWS-backed cloud storage, with no subscription required for core AI tracking and recording. Footage is accessible from any device — useful for clubs, teams and families who need a video archive that survives a lost phone.
One caveat stated plainly: AI Analysis — the upcoming heatmap, player-movement and intensity toolset — is an announced add-on feature with pricing still being developed. Treat it as a future paid extra rather than something included today.

Which Phones Work with Chameleon?
Chameleon works best with handsets on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or newer, or Apple A12 or newer.
- Apple: iPhone 12 or later on iOS 16+. iPhone SE models are not recommended.
- Samsung: Galaxy S21–S25, Z Flip3–Z Flip7
- Google: Pixel 7–10
- OnePlus: 9–13, Ace Pro series
- Xiaomi: 11–15 series
- Others: Honor Magic5–Magic7, Vivo X80–X200, iQOO 10–13, Sony Xperia 1 III–VII, Redmi K50–K80, Realme GT5–GT7
Foldables such as the Galaxy Z Fold series are not recommended — their thickness can prevent a secure fit in the clamp.
Who Is XbotGo Chameleon For?
Coaches and clubs: game footage for analysis, easy to share with players and parents
Athletes: personal highlight reels and self-review over a season
Parents: every play captured hands-free, while you actually watch from the sideline
Sports content creators: shareable footage with minimal setup
Chameleon or Falcon?
If you're weighing the two XbotGo cameras, the dividing question is simple: are you willing to leave your phone on a tripod for the whole game?
If yes, Chameleon is the shortest and lightest path in, and it adds jersey number tracking and a Bluetooth remote. If no — or if you film in weather, or want the same camera behaving identically at every game regardless of whose phone shows up — the XbotGo Falcon is the standalone answer: dual AI lenses, a 6-TOPS on-board AI processor, native 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and an IPX5 weather-resistant body.
As the top of the XbotGo line, Falcon is also where new software features are prioritized first, so some of what you're paying for is the capability it will pick up in the seasons ahead, not just what it can do out of the box.
